Customer service was awesome and helped to quickly support me when I needed to upgrade to a larger crate. Not your average dog crate. Very pleased. And the pup loves it.

Tips for Keeping Your Dog Cozy During the Winter Months

Snowy weather, cold temperatures, and dry air are all telltale signs winter is here. You might not enjoy these weather conditions, and you’re probably not the only one. Believe it or not, changing seasons can have an impact on your dog. Unless your pup is a breed that loves the snow, they may be cold this season. Follow along for a few tips for keeping your dog cozy during the winter months to ensure they don’t become pup-cicles!

Get Them a Warmer Bed

Many dogs spend a lot of time sleeping, but they might be antsy if they’re cold. With that said, you should consider getting them a warmer bed for the winter season. Although a cooling bed is ideal for warm weather, your pup may need heavy, fuzzy fabrics to keep them warm during the winter. If you don’t want to have two different beds, consider adding a warm blanket to their sleeping area.

Dress Them for Winter

You probably wear a coat or sweater to protect yourself from cold weather, and you can do the same for your dog. You can find a wide variety of winter dog apparel to keep your furry friend warm and cozy. However, you should know that not all dogs enjoy wearing clothes, so if they express dislike for the garment, don’t force them to wear it. Fortunately, there are other ways to stay warm.

Protect Their Paws

Your dog’s paws are one of the most sensitive parts of their body, and walking in cold snow and ice can be uncomfortable for them. Furthermore, their paw pads may be drier during the winter due to dry air, salt exposure, and more. With that said, you should wipe their paws when they come in from outdoors, apply a hydrating paw balm to their feet at least once each week, and consider dog booties for extra protection.

Keep Them Warm in the Car

Car rides are great, but your pup could get cold in the vehicle during the winter. Even if you like to turn up the heat, you should make an effort to keep them warm. In addition to a dog car bed, you should wrap a blanket around them to make the trip as cozy and enjoyable as possible. If your dog is shivering, it’s time to add warmer materials to their bed and space in your car.

Winter is cold for everyone, but having a few tips for keeping your dog cozy during the winter months is an excellent step toward being the best possible pet owner. Your furry friend is part of your family and they deserve nothing but the best.
